An Arrangement of Frogs and Snakes is a visual invocation—part anatomical study, part field spell, part forgotten diagram lifted from a book that should not have been opened in the first place. Snakes coil in varying loops across each panel, not in conflict, but in choreography—performing some ancient alignment known only to the cold-blooded and the brave.

Every serpent is captured mid-curve: elegant, deliberate, unhurried. They wind past seed pods, spines, botanical curiosities, and faint glyphs—as if biology and enchantment had come to a truce, just for a moment, to create something beautiful. Meanwhile, stoic frogs sit quietly along the back panels, their textured forms acting as sentinels. They are not prey. They are the still point in the spiral.

The color palette is rich and aged: parchment-beige for the base, with earthy red-browns, olive greens, and glistening charcoal scales across the snakes. Jaded Lament Discovery Note

According to Jaded Lament lore, this design is adapted from the Codex Anura Serpentis, a single surviving page of a manuscript believed to have been co-authored by a toad and a garden snake beneath the full moon of a failed harvest. The rest of the manuscript was reportedly eaten by one of the authors. Interpret as you wish.
